A Ray City Wedding for Boylan-Haven Graduate

Personal mentions in the 1951 Atlanta Daily world describe the wedding of Ray City resident,  Miss Lorine Campbell.  Miss Campbell was a graduate of Boylan-Haven School,  a private high school for African-American girls.

Miss Lorine Campbell and Mr. Willie Adams were married at 2 p in Sept 9, double ring ceremony, Ray City, Ga., at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Campbell.  Rev Houston of Ray City officiated. Mr. Edwin H. Williams was best man. Miss Virginia Williams kept the bride’s book.  The couple will reside at the home of the groom in Gainesville, Fla.  Miss Campbell is a graduate of Boylan-Haven School, Jacksonville, Fla.

" The Boylan School for Negro Girls, Jacksonville, Florida. Boylan School was established in 1886 by the Woman's Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and [was] maintained under its supervision; founder, Miss Harriet E. Emerson." - 1933 Yearbook.  About 1932, The Boylan School merged with Haven School of Savannah, GA and later, with Mather School of South Carolina.
